A sporting extravaganza: A village event open to everyone

At 8:30 a.m. that day, the "warm-up segment" of the launch ceremony kicked off at the Liangzhu Xingang Village Football Field. Participants, dressed in uniform team attire, checked in and lined up before embarking on a brisk jog along the "Common Prosperity Trail," heading toward the main venue at the Liangzhu Baseball, Softball, and Rugby Sports Center.

"Being able to familiarize myself with my teammates in advance while also soaking in the vibrant sports atmosphere of Liangzhu’s countryside—this kind of opening is truly meaningful!" exclaimed Xu Haiqiang, a member of the Nanzhuangdou Village football team, as he walked along. This "Common Prosperity Trail" not only connects the Xingang Village football field with Liangzhu’s Baseball, Softball, and Rugby Center and the Archery Sports Center, but also outlines the interconnected path of Liangzhu’s thriving sports industry, allowing athletes to experience firsthand the dynamic energy driving "sports-driven community development" as they journey along.

At the launch ceremony, the mascot "Fu Baobao" made its official debut, presenting a segment. The vibrant dance performance "Rich Baby, Let’s Dance!" ignited the entire venue, officially kicking off the launch ceremony. The mascot "Rich Baby," who made a dazzling appearance during the dance, was selected as the "Event Spokesperson" through a combination of public submissions, online voting, and expert评审—where the character "富" (rich) not only highlights the abundant heritage of the Liangzhu Civilization but also embodies the dynamic spirit of sports; meanwhile, "Baby" symbolizes Liangzhu as a "treasure land" of Chinese civilization, while also representing the league as a precious stage where athletes can showcase their true selves.

It is understood that this year's FBB Triple Crown League has attracted 28 football teams, 51 basketball teams, and 14 baseball teams from the local area, drawing a total of 1,461 athletes of various ages and professions. This event marks the largest and most highly attended grassroots sports competition held in Liangzhu Subdistrict to date. From young athletes to middle-aged and elderly participants, and from village and community residents to corporate employees, enthusiasts from all walks of life can find their stage here. The tournament will run until November, featuring over 200 matches across multiple sports venues within the subdistrict, truly embodying the spirit of "participation for all, enjoyment shared by all."

The opening pitch is called, igniting competitive passion in the first baseball game.

Leaders and guests attending the launch ceremony jointly kicked off the Liangzhu Subdistrict FBB Baseball Championship League, themed "Harmonious and Beautiful Countryside."

At 10:30 a.m., the electrifying atmosphere of the baseball opening game thoroughly energized the athletes from other events who were eagerly awaiting their turns to compete. Liu Jianhui, a member of the Dongtanghe Village football team, stood squeezed among the crowd, his eyes fixed intently on the field—and in his hand, he clutched the tactical plan for their afternoon match against Xitanghe Village. "I’ll start by soaking up the rhythm of the baseball game. It’ll give me some valuable insights. My teammates and I are up next this afternoon, and honestly, I’m already buzzing with excitement!"

On the field, baseball players seamlessly execute passes, base running, and swings, showcasing their relentless spirit and competitive flair. Meanwhile, along the sidelines, "aspiring athletes" like Liu Jianhui join villagers in cheering loudly—each wave of enthusiasm from different sports intertwining and spreading throughout the event, intensifying the vibrant, community-wide atmosphere of this unforgettable competition.

Future Outlook: Sustainable Development of Sports-Driven Streets

Behind the excitement of this event lies Liangzhu's long-term commitment to its "Sports Revitalize the Town" strategy. So far this year, Liangzhu has completed the construction of 43 sports facilities, including a baseball, softball, and rugby sports center, an archery center, as well as tennis and pickleball courts. Additionally, the area has hosted six high-level competitions, such as the Chinese 10-a-side Rugby Association Cup and the National Touch Rugby Championship.

Right now, "Beautiful Continent" is rapidly moving toward "Sports Continent" Transformation. Data provides the strongest evidence: From January to August this year, Liangzhu Subdistrict welcomed over 5.87 million visitors, generating direct revenues exceeding 183 million yuan. The "event-driven economy" has acted like a key, unlocking new opportunities for hotels, homestays, restaurants, and local specialty product sales to boost their incomes—allowing villagers to reap the benefits of sports-related prosperity right at their doorsteps.

“Sports are the ‘vitality code’ that revitalizes rural areas, and sports events serve as the ‘golden key’ to driving shared prosperity,” said Shen Yibin, a member of the Liangzhu Subdistrict Party Committee. He added that the FBB Triple Crown League is a pivotal step in Liangzhu’s “Sports-Driven Subdistrict Development” strategy. The participation of companies like Huaguang New Materials and Fucheng Welding has injected momentum into the sustainable growth of Liangzhu’s sports industry. Through this platform of sports events, these enterprises are also stepping up to fulfill their social responsibilities.

In the future, as more enterprises join the ranks of sponsoring rural sports, Liangzhu's "Sports Revitalize the Town" strategy will be built on an even stronger foundation.
