The national standard review meeting for brazing materials was held in Hangzhou: promoting product improvement and quality enhancement, and driving the high-quality development of the brazing industry.

【Summary Description】 On October 24, 2024, the 5th meeting of the 8th session of the Brazing Sub-Technical Committee of the National Welding Standardization Technical Committee was held in Hangzhou. Professor He Peng, the chairman of the Brazing Sub-Technical Committee, and Jin Limei, the chairman of Hangzhou Huaguang Welding New Materials Co., Ltd., delivered welcome speeches. This meeting was hosted by the National Welding Standardization Technical Committee and mainly organized by Hangzhou Huaguang Welding New Materials Co., Ltd. Long Weimin, the chief scientist of the China Machinery Industry Federation and director of the National Key Laboratory of New Brazing Materials and Technology, and Ma Xin, the vice chairman of the Brazing Sub-Technical Committee, presided over the meeting. More than 40 experts and representatives from the brazing industry, including Lv Xiaochun, the vice chairman of the Brazing Sub-Technical Committee, and Yang Zijia, the secretary-general, attended the meeting. Leading industrial development and promoting technological upgrades   National standards play an important guiding and supporting role in industrial development, which can strongly promote technological progress and industrial upgrading. As one of the key basic technologies in manufacturing, with the development of manufacturing towards greening, intelligence, and high-end, new demands and higher challenges have been posed to brazing materials and technology, and conventional products can no longer meet market demands. This meeting reviewed and revised three national standards: "Copper-based Brazing Filler Metal Part 1: Solid Filler Metal," "Nickel-based Brazing Filler Metal Part 1: Solid Filler Metal," and "Aluminum-based Brazing Filler Metal Part 1: Solid Filler Metal," focusing on the technical requirements for high-end equipment manufacturing, adding more miniaturized size indicators to meet the needs of integrated, functional, and miniaturized products. At the same time, adjustments were made to the main element and impurity element content and melting temperature range in the chemical composition of some filler metals, and new model filler metals for engineering applications were added. The revised national standards have more reasonable chemical composition requirements, and the composition list better meets the requirements of the products themselves, thereby promoting the improvement and quality enhancement of brazing material products in China, marking an important milestone for the continuous development of the industry and achieving industrial upgrading. As a "single champion demonstration enterprise" in the medium-temperature hard brazing filler metal industry, Huaguang New Materials has been committed to the research and development of brazing technology and the manufacturing of high-quality brazing materials. It is the first drafting unit of "Silver Brazing Filler Metal" (GB/T 10046-2018) and has participated in the formulation of 10 national standards, including "Copper-based Brazing Filler Metal." By hosting this national standard review meeting for brazing materials, it collaborates with industry experts and representatives to discuss the direction of industry technological development and jointly promotes the high-quality development of China's brazing industry.
